"She is my student. She is unserious and unruly. More like a 'non academic student'. She hardly ever comes to class. Surprisingly, she was in my class that morning just before the incident. 




I seized her phone during the lecture, because against the rule that all phones should be off during the class, hers was on and she was surfing. Of course, she failed all the questions I asked her. 





She followed me downstairs after the lecture and made excuses as to why her phone was on, after which I gave it back to her. Between five and ten minutes later, this incident happened" --Emeka Val, a Lecturer in UNIZIK

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  on Monday, March 24, 2025 busted a Ponzi Scheme Academy and arrested 133 suspects in Abuja.   They were arrested at the Compensation Layout in Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT,  Abuja,  following actionable intelligence on the existence of the Academy. The Academy, named Q University (a.k.a Q-Net) is in the business of  recruiting gullible young Nigerians who are trained to recruit more gullible citizens into the scheme with the promise of getting unrealistic profit returns.   Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), on Saturday visited the ongoing reconstruction of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex Accompanied by the Head of Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, Ibas was received by Engr. Omaka Oko, General Manager of Monier Construction Company (MCC) Limited, who led the tour of the project site on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt. Ibas emphasized the importance of the legislature having a functional workspace and expressed confidence in the contractor’s adherence to schedule, stating, “By the end of six months, this place will be ready for those who need to use it.” The project features a two-story building with 34 en-suite offices, an elevator, a gallery, meeting rooms, and a conference hall. But President Bola Tinubu in his broadcast claimed that Suspended Governor Sim Fubara did nothing to rebuild it.
